Importing goods

Documents and gifts in connection with the Congress (of no commercial value and not for resale) can be imported into Qatar.

Delegations should provide Qatar Post with a list of the items they plan to ship to Doha by completing the "cargo manifest" form and returning it to this email. The list should be sent at least three months before Congress to allow Qatar Post sufficient time to issue an official letter to the customs authority.

Delegates should note that it is strictly forbidden to bring any alcohol into Qatar, including duty free. There are stiff penalties for consuming alcohol other than on licensed premises.

Qatar Post recommends the following international shipping company:
Doha Express International Freight Forwarders (DAX)

Ms Caroline Absalon – Import/Export Coordinator
Tel: +974 6675 4709
E-mail:  to be used for all inquiries

Mr Ashiq Iqbal – Logistics Manager
Tel: +974 6631 1062

Mr Shareef Talaat – Customer Service (Arabic)
Tel: +974 4436 0012
Fax: +974 4436 0013

Items can also be imported using postal channels (parcels, dispatches, EMS). They must be addressed to DAX, which will take care of customs clearance formalities, storage, handling and delivery of items to the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).

All items must be marked "25th UPU Congress". Download labels for this purpose.

Items should bear the name of the person authorized to receive them at the QNCC and be shipped to the following address:

QPOST c/o Doha Express International Freight Forwarders
PO Box 23341
